Overview

Diving & Safari: Ponta do Ouro, Sodwana Bay, Hluhluwe & Aliwal Shoal Four outstanding destinations, thirteen dives on some of the Indian Ocean's most famous reefs and a safari in one of Africa's oldest game reserves — southern Africa at its best, above and below the surface! Your adventure begins in Ponta do Ouro at the southern tip of Mozambique, with four dives on colourful reefs alive with turtles, rays and dolphins, and the legendary Pinnacles shark dive right on your doorstep. A full-day safari in Maputo National Park adds elephants, giraffes and hippos to the mix. Cross the border to Sodwana Bay in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where five dives with Coral Divers take you to Africa's southernmost coral reefs, rich in turtles, reef sharks and tropical fish. Then swap your fins for binoculars: three nights at Rhino Ridge Safari Lodge inside the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park bring game drives and guided walks in the park where white rhino conservation began — with a good chance of spotting the Big Five. The finale unfolds in Umkomaas on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, home to the world-famous Aliwal Shoal. Four dives reveal caves and gullies full of ragged-tooth sharks (in season), oceanic blacktips and vibrant reef life, with an optional day trip to Protea Banks for even more shark action. Cosy places to stay and all transfers taken care of — all you need to bring is your dive gear and your sense of adventure!
