Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
This policy describes the cookies and local storage we use, what they do, and how you can control them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage (e.g. for your language preference).
2. How we use cookies
We group cookies into categories so you can choose what to allow:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function; always active
- Analytics — help us understand how visitors use the site (Google Analytics at launch, opt-in only)
- Marketing — for advertising and campaign measurement (not currently in use)
3. Cookies we use today
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cc_cookie | Travel2Mozambique | Stores your cookie consent choices | 6 months | Necessary |
t2m-language | Travel2Mozambique | Remembers your selected site language | Until cleared | Necessary |
4. Cookies at launch (opt-in only)
When Google Analytics is enabled at site launch, the following cookies may be set only if you accept analytics cookies:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes users for analytics | 2 years | Analytics | |
_gid | Distinguishes users for 24 hours | 24 hours | Analytics | |
_ga_* | Google Analytics session state | 2 years | Analytics |
To enable analytics at launch, set the environment variable NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID in your deployment. No tracking scripts run until this is configured and the user opts in.
5. Managing your preferences
When you first visit, you can Accept all, Reject all (non-essential cookies), or Manage preferences to choose by category. The (×) button on the consent banner rejects non-essential cookies.
You can change your choices at any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the site footer.
You can also clear cookies through your browser settings. Note that clearing necessary cookies may reset your language and consent preferences.
6. Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies may be set by providers such as Google when you consent to analytics. We do not control third-party cookies — refer to the provider's privacy policy for details.
7. More information
