Kruger National Park
Resumen
Sobre Kruger National Park
Kruger National Park is one of Africa's great safari destinations — nearly 20,000 km² of Lowveld bushveld in Mpumalanga and Limpopo with some of the continent's most reliable Big Five viewing, 500+ bird species, and infrastructure that suits first-time safari travellers and seasoned photographers alike.
Game drives cross open savanna where elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhino remain the headline species; wild dog, cheetah, hippo, and prolific antelope fill the margins. Rest camps from Skukuza to Lower Sabie, Olifants, and Satara anchor self-drive routes; adjacent Sabi Sand and Timbavati private reserves offer exclusive traversing and off-road guiding when you want a more intimate experience.
Kruger pairs naturally with Mozambique — cross the Giriyondo or Pafuri border from Limpopo National Park, or fly into Skukuza, Hoedspruit (HDS), or Kruger Mpumalanga (MQP) after beach time in Maputo, Ponta do Ouro, or Vilanculos. We handle permits, lodge selection, and border logistics so a bush-and-beach itinerary stays seamless.

South Africa's flagship safari park — nearly 20,000 km² of Big Five bushveld, 500+ bird species, self-drive rest camps, and adjacent private reserves like Sabi Sand with world-class leopard viewing.
Fly into Skukuza (SZK), Hoedspruit (HDS), or Kruger Mpumalanga (MQP) for the southern and central sectors; Phalaborwa (PHW) or Hoedspruit for the north. Many guests drive from Johannesburg (4–5 hours) or cross from Mozambique via Giriyondo or Pafuri.
Yes — Mozambique works especially well with the southern areas of Kruger (Maputo, Ponta do Ouro, Vilanculos, and cross-border routes via Giriyondo). Central and northern Kruger need significantly longer land transfers. We handle border permits, lodge selection, and realistic driving or flight connections.
Self-drive is popular and well supported by rest camps and marked roads. Guided drives and private reserve stays add expert tracking and off-road access — we recommend based on your experience and how much you want to relax.
May to September (dry winter) concentrates wildlife at water and offers mild days. October to March is greener with newborn antelope and excellent birding. June to August is peak season — book lodges early.
Three to five nights suits a first visit — enough for multiple game drives across different habitats. Longer stays work well when combining Kruger with Mozambique beach time or Zululand on the same trip.
